Hang Tiger Menon not his brother Yakub tweets Salman Khan
Salman Khan, who has been in news with the success of his latest film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, stirred up a controversy late last night as he tweeted out in support of 1993 Mumbai blast accused Yakub Menon.
For those unaware on the issue, the court has given capital punishment to Yakub Menon for his role in the Mumbai blasts, which killed 257 people and injured more than 1400. Yakub has been behind bars since 1994 and after the Supreme Court dismissed his curative petition, Yakub Memon submitted a mercy petition to the Maharashtra governor. He also approached the Supreme Court afresh for staying his execution. If his pleas are dismissed, he will be hanged on July 30.
Salman Khan however blamed Yakub's brother Tiger Menon, who is one of the key conspirators of Mumbai blasts, and said that it should be Tiger whom the government should hang instead of Yakub. "Get tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother... Kidhar chupa hai tiger? Hey koi tiger nahi hai hai hai billi aur hum ek billi ko nahi pakad sakteh," Salman tweeted.
The superstar however didn't stop there. He went on to appeal to Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to confirm if Tiger Menon is in Pakistan, tweeting "Sharif Saab ek darkhaust hai k agar yeh aap k mulkh mein hai toh plz iktila kar deejiyeh."
Salman Khan added that he had been thinking about tweeting on this issue for past 3 days. "Been wanting to tweet Tis fr 3 days n was afraid to do so but it involves a man's n family. Don't hang brother hang tha lomdi who ran away," tweeted Salman.
However, soon after Salman Khan's tweets from last night started making headlines, his father, imminent film writer Salim Khan, rubbished Salman's comments on the matter. Salim Khan reportedly said that whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless and that he is ignorant of the issue and people should not take him seriously.
The superstar, who is known to speak his mind always, has definitely created a stir on this sensitive matter with his comments on the social network.
